I came across the Mother Bear Project , today, via a weekly knitting e-mail that I get.
I was so impressed with this initiative that I've ordered the pattern to make a huggy teddy bear for a child in one of the countries included in the project.

I'm not so sure how my bear is going to turn out, but I look forward to making him/her :)
