And Yes !! You Too Shall Share My Pain

Its not that I am "baa humbug!!", but excuse me ?

I wasn't totally caught off guard early Saturday as I was shopping in the local big mall. I knew that The Bay had been setting up their Christmas decoration section, for weeks. Heck, the area was probably even open to the public last week. It's been so, for a few years, thus walking through the area I wasn't bothered too much ( most of it is crap anyways).

But the kicker was Loblaws ( big local grocery store).

It was a case of "here today, gone tomorrow".

Hallowe'en? What's that? Hmmm, yesterday ???

Yup. I walked into the store November 1 and shook my head. Not a trace of Hallowe'en candy, not even for sale. Instead the isles were lined with Christmas stock..... candles, cookies, wine glasses, turkeys, decorations............................................................

I kept thinking I was in a a time warp...

No snow, Hallowe'en was yesterday, trees still have some leaves...

I asked the cashier what happened. She said it was the night crew; the day staff came in and it was all transformed. They even have their Christmas t-shirts (Loblaw's uniform) that they have to wear, now.

ITS ALL TOO EARLY !!!

And then tonight. I got home, sat at my little desk by the window overlooking the 'hood and turned on my computer. I gazed out my window and...

Holy *expletives here* !!!

The apartment building across the way from us...

One of the tenants, on their balcony, has their Christmas lights up already...

AND THEY ARE ON !!!!!

So sit back and share my pain, friends and foes - Watch this classic from a couple of years back.

BAAAA HUMBUG !!!!!!

ARRRGGGG .... MY EYES !!!

And today, I spent the afternoon having a beer on a patio wearing sandals and a tshirt. Not your typical November day!

Found you through Lone Grey Squirrel.

It's not Christmas that they are celebrating but "Sales Season". It is way too early.

In August I went to Costco and some Christmas stuff was already there for sale.

Nothing should be up until December 1 as far as I'm concerned. It would be more than enough.

Violetsky - we had some lovely weather the last past 2 weeks *sigh*. I think we are now paying the price. Its freezing rain here tomorrow - just like my good ole' days in KTown.

LGS, Speedy, Olga, Jazz-

HO HO Ho BAAAA Humbug - all I ask is for 2 more weeks before the shopping season is upon us
(aka Black Friday in the USA),or even Jazz's thought - Dec 1

With us here in Paradise, now back to losing 20 cents to the US dollar, forget even shopping in the States - which is an issue now that Fidel is back in the States.

But cooking.. already planning yummy treats, like Fidel's favorite goodie... gumdrop cake (WHICH HE ONLY GETS AT CHRISTMAS AND NOT OTHER FIDEL IMPORTANT DATES)

Take heart. By next week we will be able to buy Easter Eggs. And there's nothing nicer than troughing a load of chocolate by the fire watching the ads on the telly advising us where to go for our summer holidays 2011.

I blame Global Warming...

WE put our decoration out before the ground freezes but we won't start lighting them until December.Of course they are nothing like the one in your little video.
I too feel uncomfortable with all the Christmas stuff in the stores. Some are even marked down already. Steins has half priced artificial Christmas trees.
