A Rainy Late Afternoon

The rain has started from Ike, but we aren't going to get as much as they had originally predicted. In fact the severe rain warning has been canceled.

However, Fidel is getting walloped. Sucks to be him. But at least he's back on a large land mass, where rain is seen as a nuisance versus a vital means of filling the cistern that provides for all of one's water needs.

And now he has a WalMart, Schnucks, a real landro-mat, PotBelly sandwiches....

....Eating and shopping and real food - even Dennies *burp* - to ones own pleasure ( oh yes ... school), with no mozzies, goats, roaming bovines, heat, room mates.

And he has his Yukon !

No more "Car" :( as in Saba, or hoofing it, as in here & Stacia.

He actually can drive without contortion - his 6'4" frame has body room AND he can see everything out of the windshield.

( more on the Yukon)

Dimi & I have been so lazy these past few days. Guess its trying to re-acclimatize after being road gypsies for a couple of weeks. Yesterday was the 1st Saturday in 4 that we weren't traveling off to another adventure. We didn't do much at all these past few days except sleep and get groceries. The weather hasn't been very conducive to doing anything either.

I still have to upload pictures from our trip. Fidel got me a mini video cam, which he bought for use for my new "business", but I had more fun using it to film Dimi on the last part of the trip. Those are also to come. Guess the muse of writing/posting hasn't struck me yet... I think I am also trying to formulate how I want to blog our adventures.

However, I will leave you with a snapshot I took of a billboard you may see exciting Simpson Bay into the Cole Bay area, Sint Maarten.

We almost had an accident.....

Speedy, ya su' do get around. Nice figa' !!!

(not a great picture, but thats him !!!! Click on the pict to get a better view)

Now off to make some meatloaf for dinner.

I think we must be enduring our own mini-tropical storm, if that doesn't sound too blasé. It's not stopped bloody raining and howling a gale here for over a week...Then again...what is that orange thing I espy in the sky? Is it an orange? Is it a ball? No! It might just be the sun...

Agnes.. *lol*... we've had a wet summer here,in fact I don't think we had a summer :0 But the trees are loving it all ( rain and cool temps). Usually by now they have turned color.... they're still all boringly green right now.

We never even EXPERIENCED summer. The weather has been total crap over here. Well except for now... for some reason it wants to play nice. I say into September, why bother? LOL.
