Downtown Paradise on my way home, at 6:00 pm.
I'm glad I'm not going to the Hill tonight. The weather has been absolutely perfect today, so thousands are in the city.... celebrating in a myriad of ways. Most legal, some not so legal....
I'll be able to see the fireworks from my living room window, if I stay up that long.
Well almost wordless...
We sold 7500 + chicken sandwiches/ chicken caesar salads, today between and .
So here are some pictures taken from my furtive cell phone image capturing device (which is why the pictures are so bad) - the
slave volunteer labour deep in the bowels of Chicken Tent (actually Chicken Corner) Central.
Can't you just hear them chow down on their yummy food....
The sandwiches and salads all had 1 whole breast of BBQ chicken in them, marinated in a mixture created by a Dad in the 2002 "Canada Day Chicken Challenge".
Did I try the food ? Of course not - it was all gone by the time I finished. It was one of those events where "We're open only as long as the food lasts".
I did get some freebies today, although - the best being a chicken key chain and an apron from the Canadian Chicken Farmers Association.
And a party for us volunteers Friday night!!!
