A Special Day Today

Today is our 3rd wedding anniversary.

Hard to believe, the third one apart.

Its a bit easier this year because we were able to spend several months together over the last few months, to bond more... feel more like a couple.

Its not fun, but its okay because I know what we feel for each other, and the goal at the end is so important to both of us.

You know, Fidel is such a romantic... He sent me the most beautiful floral arrangement today !!! Its just gorgeous!!!!!!!!!

And the man, he knows the women. He sent it to me today at work, so I can impress my co-worker ladies (I can imagine what they are going to say to their hubs tonight *lol*)... the starry eyes when they saw the flowers. The coo cooing.

Even the big boss (a he) saw them and wished us all the best and clucked and clucked and goshed and gollied. He's a real sweetie and just likes to see people happy ( but don't cross him... then he's really scary).

We had other good news today.

Fidel did well on his first block exams. YEAH !!!! FIDEL !!!!

I applied for a position way back in October, one which I thought I had no way in hell of making, given the level of the job. But I though "what the hey - you don't know if you don't try. And all that is lost is their time reading the resume." Oh, yes... its something I want to do;I don't go through these competitions for the fun of it as they are long and arduous.

Long story short, I passed the exam, passed the interview, passed the reference checks, and have been sitting on my hands waiting for some word. Today, I finally found out that I am deemed "qualified" for the position and now placed in a pool of likewise rated candidates.

Second last step is to see if I make the officially posted "qualified" list (long story - its a really complicated process & these people are really playing it by the book.. I could still be knocked off this list for various reasons) and after that, if I am lucky, I'll be appointed to one of the two positions open.

More sitting on hands, as I wait to see the list posted and see if I'm on it.
