I am tired...

hot, stinky, sweaty...

but really feeling good... tho' this old bod is no longer used to real physical toil...

Here is the reason...

I don't think I'm too daft yet, as this is my chance to really work in a garden and learn.

But it feels weird, unlike other volunteering.. no deadlines, no competition...

Just garden as if its your own!

Too kwel !!

Hoping I'll get back into "shape" and learn to relax....

Oww, oww, oww, owwwwwwww... balcony gardening is so much easier..

And the bugs (yuck) and weeds .... oi !!!

The head gardener said 9/10 of the work will be weeding and other stuff like dead- heading ... another oi

We'll see how long I last...

the smell of the peonies... my fav... I hope the garden has roses...

(and then my stupid question about watering... the beds are so dry... and then guess what ? We've had heavy rains and serious thunderstorms this afternoon for 5 hours now (and counting)... first big series in this region this summer...
last time I ask!)

Fascinating. Sounds like a little bit of special paradise in Paradise. I never knew about Maplelawn. Seldom went down Richmond Road though.

LGS - I often went by the place when I used to go to school at Algonquin College.

I rememeber the house, but never knew there was a garden. But in those days, it would have been was in a bad sate of disrepair.

Hi! This sounds like a wonderful project. I've not heard of Maplelawn either, but it sounds great. I love gardening (and hate bugs too!), but I've totally given up on my garden at the moment. (So overgrown!)

Thanks for your comment on my blog the other day as well btw, and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply to you! I had a great time in London - although as it turns out my dad no longer needs the work visa! I'm so glad you liked the photos though. I'd be really happy if you would like to use them for your post. :o)

Hope you're well!

LGS, Emma and Dr. John -

I just had a good look at the picture and from the orientation, the section in the foreground and in particular the peonies to the left...this was the area I largely worked on this weekend.
