The Deep Fryer has Arrived

See - its there on the suspended tray.. the sorta yellow arrow pointing at it

We got the notice in the mail yesterday.

Guess what ?

This poor creature is doomed to roam the mailrooms/mail services of the world.

Why ?

Canukistan is charging us $ 100 duty/brokerage fees. This is on top of what Fidel paid both the first time he mailed the fryer (and that would have had duty on it had I been at the address it was sent to and I picked it up) it to me just over two years ago, plus the mail forwarding fees from the company that was forwarding his mail from the States to Saba (when it was returned to him because I had moved).... see a few blogs back about the story

He also paid a pretty price to mail it off Island when he came home a month ago.

So much for a wedding gift - it has cost us at least the cost of three really good deep fryers.

Well almost. We're not going to pick it up this time. It has a return address to somewhere on Saba. It might end up back there, in time. And then who knows....

Someone will probably find in in 100 years and consider it an archeological wonder.

Unfortunately this fryer isn't quite as good as Olga's Bra. I don't think it'll be writing home anytime soon.

Adios! Deep Fryer. For more than a year your box kept my garbage can at a convenient height, and I'll always be grateful.

Good luck in your future endeavors.

Dear MSW; I doubt you've see/heard the last from your deep fryer...I'll just bet someday we'll be reading all about your wayward appliance's adventures on his/her very own travel-blog! I mean, stranger things have happened, you know...

I live near the town of Paradise in California...Where do you live?

Olga -

One never knows.....

Maybe the deep fryer could start a "food critique" thing on its travels..hmmmm (thinking)

I'm up in the "Great White North"

Fidel knows of Paradise elsewhere.. near Riverside CA. Is this where you are ?

I live in Chico, in Northern California which is about 8 miles west of the town of Paradise. The Welcome sign says; "May You Find Paradise All It Name Implies" - I'm hoping to get a photo of Olga on that sign!

Glad to see that Olga has goals, Shawn *lol*

Hmmm I think Olga should have a picture taken of herself near the Eternal flame on Parliament Hill
